Easter: Nasarawa Speaker calls for sober reflection

As Christians around the world commemorate Easter, the profound event of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has extended warm greetings to the Christian communities within the State and beyond on this significant occasion.

In a statement conveyed by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, the Speaker urges Christians to embrace this period for introspection, urging them to exemplify sacrifice, love, and solidarity towards one another, particularly towards the less privileged in society, mirroring the compassion demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

Speaker Jatau emphasised the importance of utilizing this time to deepen prayers for the nation and its leadership. He stressed the significance of maintaining unwavering faith in both God and the Government, recognizing that challenges are inherent in human life. He assured that the current challenges facing the country can be surmounted and will eventually become part of history.

The Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen also called on Nigerians to use the period and pray fervently for the success of leaders at all levels and for the country to overcome its emerging challenges.

He described the period as unique and special where Christians are ending the 40 days fasting of lent and Muslims are also at the last segment of the holy month of the Ramadan fasting respectively.

He enjoined all Nigerians irrespective of their affiliations being religious, political, ethnic or any other differences to buried it aside and be a patriotic citizen of Nigeria.

Speaker Danladi Jatau wished all Christians a successful Easter celebration.
