Ebedei plays draw against Pillars in Gold Cup

Nigeria Nationwide League club FC Ebedei continued their impressive run in the Gold Cup pre-season tournament by holding Kano Pillars to a 0-0 draw at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode on Saturday.

FC Ebedei despite playing with 10 men after having a player sent off in the second half frustrated the former Nigeria Professional Football League champions by putting up a resolute performance in defence.

The club owned by the elder brother of former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh, Churchill, now sits at the top of Group A with four points after edging out Niger Tornadoes 1-0 in their first game on Friday.

In another fixture, Lobi Stars picked up their first win of the competition following a 2-0 win against non-league side, FC Yobo, a club financed by the elder brother of former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo, Edwin.

David Tyakase and Sunday Akeleche scored the goals for the Pride of Benue.

Remo Stars and Crown FC played a 1-1 draw in their Group B game.

Ekene Awazie put Remo Stars ahead from the spot on 14 minutes, while Oseni Usman levelled scores for Crown eight minutes before the break.
