Ebonyi Assembly vows to provide quality legislation
Ebonyi House of Assembly, on Monday, said it would use quality legislation to promote peaceful co-existence among residents of the state.
Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Chief Chinedu Onah (APC-Ohaukwu South), stated this when members of the Hausa community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state visited him at the assembly complex, Abakaliki.
Onah, who thanked the delegation for being the first to visit him since his emergence as deputy speaker, said that all tribes would receive equitable representation from the assembly.
He also promised that the assembly would make laws that would promote peaceful co-existence among the people of the state.

“The Hausa community is no longer seen as visitors in Ohaukwu LGA but as citizens of the state.
“This is due to its peaceful co-existence with the indigenes and contributions toward the development of the council and the state.
“I assure that due dividends of democracy will be provided to you under the present administration in the state,” he said.
The deputy speaker urged members of the Hausa community to continue being law-abiding in order to sustain the existing harmonious relationship between them and the indigenes of the area.
Leader of the delegation, Alhaji Salisu Yinusa, said that the visit was to congratulate the deputy speaker, as ‘he is our own’.
“You have always represented us equitably, which made us to vote massively for you during the last general elections.
“We will support your leadership and continue to live in peace with the indigenes of the area,” he said.
