The Pioneer Councilors in Ebonyi State who served the State between 1999 to 2002 have expressed happiness over the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
The Councilors under the Chairmanship of Chief Maxwell Nwali disclosed this while interacting with Journalists in Abakaliki the state capital.
Nwali said “We the Pioneer Councilors who have served the State meritoriously from 1999 to 2002 are grateful to God Almighty for granting victory in favor of our Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru at the Supreme Court last week.
“So our Governor has been doing very well right from the inception of this government which is barely 7 months”.
Nwali emphasized that as Pioneer Councilors who led the foundation of democracy in the state, “We are ever ready and willing to offer our contribution towards achieving the yearnings of the governor”.
He thanked the Governor for the Mantra of his leadership which is the ‘People’s Charter of Need’ which has turned around positively the lives of Ebonyi people ranging from health, education, economy, agriculture, social life and above all, good governance.
“From the verdict of the Supreme Court, it has shown that Nwifuru is a man after the masses’ heart through the way the masses voted during the 2023 general election.
Infrastructure development
The Chairman also commended the Governor on the ongoing construction of Duplexes for all the traditional rulers in the State and the approval for the construction of two-kilometre roads in all the communities in the State
He urged the Governor to focus on agricultural-oriented industries as he plans to establish industries in the State.
The Secretary of the Group, Chief Ali Ogbuzuru thanked the Governor for making Ebonyi State one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria since he assumed office.
“There has been neither intra nor inter-communal crisis since Governor Francis Nwifuru came to power,” Ogbuzuru said.
Workers’ welfare
The Director in charge of Media and Publicity, David Uka thanked the Governor for prioritizing the welfare of the workers.
Uka said workers have been brought back to life since Nwifuru became Governor.
“Just to mention some of the benefits workers have enjoyed since the inception of the government, Governor Nwifuru has given N100,000 to all the workers in the State as Christmas largesse and just yesterday, the Governor approved another N10,000 for all the workers” Uka said.
He thanked the media for showcasing the good work of the Governor in the State.
