Ebonyi State Government Southeast Nigeria has sworn -in  new Judge, Justice Awada Paul to ensure speedy delivery of justice in the State.

The State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation Barrister Orji Uchenna made this known after  the Executive Council EXCO meeting held at New Government House Abakaliki the State Capital.

Barrister Orji said “EXCO approved the release of a vehicle to the State Judiciary for the newest Judge of the State Customary Court of Appeal . EXCO noted the social media misrepresentations on the vehicles given to the State Executive by the  State House of Assembly and directed that records be put straight on the matter. Contrary to the misrepresentations in Social Media, it was noted that  EXCO only released one vehicle to the State Judiciary for the  newly appointed judge and that the vehicle is an entitlement and not a gift as misrepresented by some quarters in social media.

“EXCO approved the handover of Ebonyi State Shopping Mall to 3R Retail Company Limited through  a competitive bidding process  to take over and manage the Mall for a period of 6 months.

“EXCO also examined the fate of 31 under aged children from Effium community who were brainwashed into carrying arms during the crisis in Effium Community. These children have been on remand for about 3 months now.

EXCO approved that the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner of Police should work on their  release on a condition that each of them should get their parents or guardians (where their parents are dead) to effect their bail conditions . Each of the children are to swear affidavit through their parents or guardians to be of good conduct,” he  added.

On his part, Justice Awada thanked the State Government and the State Judiciary for the appointment.

He promised to always uphold the Constitution of Nigeria no matter the condition.
