Ebonyi: INEC sues for peace in crisis communities

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has called on warring communities in the state to embrace peace to enable the Commission to carry out the ongoing expansion of Polling units PUs and Continuous Voters Registration CVR in those Communities.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Dr Chukwuemeka Joseph Chukwu made this call in Abakaliki the State capital.

Dr Chukwuemeka said the crisis in those Communities is a hiccup in the ongoing exercise.

“Without peace, our ongoing exercise might suffer a setback, you have to be peaceful to enable us to bring polling units to your doorstep and also to register all eligible voters in your area,” Chukwuemeka added.

He called on the Stakeholders of various Communities in the State to ensure there is peace at all times.
