The event, held at Central School Egunkwo Onicha Igbeze in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, marked the second edition of the “Ohanivo Unity Carnival” since Dr. Kama assumed office.

Speaking at the event, the lawmaker described the carnival as a platform to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of his constituency while promoting unity, peace, and progress. This year’s theme, “Celebrating Our Heritage, Building Our Future Together,” reflected the shared values and aspirations of the Ohanivo people.

Highlighting the objectives of the carnival, Dr. Kama said it was born out of a collective desire to strengthen bonds among the constituents, preserve their cultural heritage, and create opportunities for collaboration and mutual understanding. He noted the overwhelming success of the inaugural edition, emphasizing that the Ohanivo Constituency is more than just a collection of communities but a united family.

The carnival showcased vibrant cultural displays, including the grand finale of the Face of Ohanivo Beauty Pageant and the Ohanivo Talent Hunt. Activities ranged from traditional wrestling, singing, and dancing to carnival parades and merit awards for outstanding individuals.

Dr. Kama commended Ebonyi State Governor Chief Francis Nwifuru for his exemplary leadership and support, which have fostered a fair and peaceful environment for effective legislative representation.

“Ohanivo Unity Carnival is more than a celebration; it is a movement. It reminds us of the richness of our heritage and the importance of preserving it for future generations,” Kama said. He also praised the creativity and talent of Ohanivo youths, describing the beauty pageant and talent hunt as platforms to build self-esteem and develop skills.

The event drew a large audience, including academics, business leaders, media professionals, politicians, and religious figures from the constituency and beyond.

Special guests and awardees, including Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Roy Umahi and Michael Anayo Okorie, commended Dr. Kama for his humanitarian leadership and dedication to improving the lives of Ohanivo constituents. They pledged their continued support for his administration.

Traditional leaders, such as Eze Godwin Akpandu, Chairman of Ohanivo Traditional Rulers Forum, and Eze Josephat Ikegwo, Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council in Onicha LGA, expressed gratitude for Dr. Kama’s effective representation and endorsed his second term in office.

The Ohanivo Unity Carnival not only celebrated the vibrant culture of the constituency but also reinforced the importance of unity and collaboration in building a brighter future for all.
