Ebonyi: NDE Resettles Beneficiaries Of Renewed Hope Employment Initiative

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has successfully resettled the beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria.
The NDE Director- General, Silas Agara disclosed this in his address during the event opposite Unity Square complex in Abakaliki the State Capital.
The DG represented in the event by the NDE State Coordinator, Pastor Don Anaba said,
This Employment Initiative is built on three core pillars:
“Skills Development: By providing training and mentorship opportunities, we equip unskilled and unemployed persons with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the modern work and small scale business environment.
“Resettlement: By providing beneficiaries with loan facilities, access to finance, starter packs the Directorate hopes to support the establishment of nano,micro and small scale enterprises.
“Job Creation: To work with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to create new job opportunities, stimulate innovation, and drive economic growth.
The Renewed Hope Employment Initiative commenced with a Flag-Off Ceremony on 6th December, 2024,while training of selected beneficiaries started on 9th December, 2024. Over the past 3 months, the Directorate has successfully trained Thirty-Three Thousand, Six Hundred and Ninety-Two (33,692)unemployed Nigerian youths, women and Persons Living with Disabilities in-demand skills across Vocational Skills training, Entrepreneurship and business management training
Agricultural Skills Training and activities within the Public Works sector in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory”, he said.
“This initiative has culminated into the launching of resettlement of the trained beneficiaries, the goal of which is to empower participants to become not only self-employed but employers of labour. A total number of Five Thousand Five Hundred and Thirty-Two (5,532)beneficiaries will be resettled with loans and starter packs nationwide to enable the establishment of their own businesses.
“Today marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to address unemployment and promote economic development. This initiative underscores our commitment to creating a brighter future for all, where everyone has access to meaningful work and opportunities for growth. This initiative would not have been possible without the collaboration and support of our partners. I want to place on record, my profound gratitude to the Honourable Ministers of Labour and Employment, our supervising Ministry for their support which led to the attainment of the success we are witnessing today.
“The NDE has enjoyed the support of several other organisations in the public and private sectors as we labored to actualise this programme. I wish to thank the National Commission for Persons with Disability for their support through the mobilization and management of persons with disabilities across Nigeria who participated in the programme.
The roles played by messers Skill Paddy and Timetrest Limited in the provision of digital skills training to teeming young Nigerians within the scope of this programme,remains an exemplary model in public private partnership”. He added.
He appreciated State and Local Governments as well as other traditional institutions across the country that supported NDE in one way or the other towards the successful execution of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative.
Anaba thanked the Governor Nwifuru Francis for giving them enabling environment to operate.
The representative of Chairman Planning Committee for the renewed Hope Employment initiative of 93731 Jobs, Mrs Ezeaka Franca urged the Beneficiaries to make extra ordinary efforts to make people patronize their business.
The State Commissioner for Skill and Job Creation, Okwu Oko Udu, appreciated NDE for the wonderful empowerment programme.
Okwu Oko said the Governor of Ebonyi State is doing the same empowerment programs to eliminate poverty among Ebonyi Youths.
Two of the Beneficiaries, Mr Chime Odumegwu and Nwokwu Ebubechukwu thanked NDE for the Kind gesture.
