Ebonyi: NYSC Urges Corps Members To Sustain Spirit of Patriotism

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has encouraged all the Corps Members in the State to continue to sustain the spirit of hard work, patriotism and resilience in their primary places of assignment.

The NYSC Acting Director- General, Mrs. Christy Uba, represented by the State Coordinator Mrs. Mercy Bamai gave this advice during the closing ceremony of the 2022 batch ‘C’, stream ‘II’ Orientation Course at Old MacGregor College Afikpo North Local Government Area of the State.

The DG said such a character exhibition in corps members will help to unite the Country.

Uba said; “As you begin the next phase of the service, I urge you to sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work and resilience which you imbibed during the Orientation Course. It is my ardent hope that you will strive to meet the expectations of Nigerians by contributing towards the progress and development of our dear country”

“I would like to remind you of the oath of allegiance you took in which you pledged to accept posting in good faith. I enjoin you to perform your duties with diligence and be guided by the provisions of the NYSC Act and Bye-laws as well as workplace rules and regulations. In keeping with the objectives of the Scheme, you are expected to integrate into your host communities while also appreciating and respecting their cultures. You must desist from meddling in their local politics.  Furthermore, I enjoin you to undertake personal and group Community Development Service projects that will help to uplift the living standard of the people of your host communities”

The NYSC Boss urged them to always be security conscious. She thanked the Nigeria Government, State and Local Government, including all the security outfits for ensuring the success of the program.

The total number of Corps members registered is 869 out of which, males are 388 and females are 481.
