The Ebonyi State Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) have begun a 3-day training for Head Teachers and Teachers in the State.
The training programme is in line with the efforts of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr Francis Nwifuru to ensure that sanity is restored in all the Public school in the State.

Ogodo added that retraining of head teachers of Primary 1-3 teachers under Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) is a welcome development.
Ebonyi State Universal Basic Education Board is set to train teachers in the 13 local government areas of the State on Early Grade Reading.
“This training is organized by the board in collaboration with its sister federal outfit Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). Before the program’s introduction, some pupils especially those in foundation classes faced challenges in literacy in that regard but delightfully I can say we are gradually achieving reading outcomes
“Reading is a fundamental ability for all other learning activities.Students can learn only when they comprehend, and this requires appropriate reading skills in the first place. This intervention was designed to help pupils learn how to read and write without hitch
“Achieving learning and reading outcomes is paramount to  Governor  Nwifuru. The training is running simultaneously in all 13 local governments of the State. Teachers are at the center and are key to achieving the desired outcomes hence the need for them to be continuously re-trained to be armed with relevant and novel skills needed to provide pupils with quality instructions”
She  urged  them to pay attention and practice what they will learn at their various Schools.
The Secretary of the Board, Livinus Ezeuwa  thanked Governor Nwifuru for being Education friendly Leader.
For her part, the Executive Director Girlup Africa, Mrs Omokide Chikodi said this program will help the Head Teachers and Teachers with the aides in impacting knowledge on the pupils.
