Ebonyi state Government To Enforce Rules Guiding Urban Development

The Ebonyi State Ministry of Capital City says it will henceforth enforce the rules guiding the Urban Development, especially those who are building structures without approval.
The Ministry also warned developers to always obtain approval and to work with it in according with the guidelines approved as the ministry is ready to clampdown on any defaulting individual.
The State Commissioner for Capital City and Urban Development, Mr. Sunday Inyima made this known while addressing Journalists immediately after an inspection at King David Estate, Abakaliki, the State Capital.
Inyima said the Ministry is ready to ensure that all buildings constructed within the capital city meet specifications and are approved by the Ministry.

Consequently, the Commissioner tasked all landlords to get approval before construction to enable the state government know that their buildings are of good standard to avert collapse.
“We embarked on an inspection of buildings in the capital city to ensure that they complied with the specifications of the ministry of capital city and urban development. We want to make sure that the buildings are properly approved, and that they comply with the regulations, and with the drawing that was so approved by the ministry. We are doing a random check to make sure that what is on ground complies directly and holistically with what is on the drawing,” he explained.
The sites were jointly inspected alongside with other professional bodies attached to the office.
