Ebonyi State Governor Promises Corps Members Smooth Orientation Course

The Governor of Ebonyi State in Southeast Nigeria has assured the Corps members of 2024 Batch ‘B’ stream ‘1’ posted in the State of hitch-free orientation Course and rewarding service year.

The Governor who was represented in the swearing-in by the Director of the State Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mr Lawrence Orji disclosed this during his speech at the National Youths Service Corps NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Old Macgregor College Afikpo Local Government Area of the State.

Orji said, “I am convinced that you will record a hitch-free orientation course and rewarding service year in the salt of the nation”.

He further urged the Corps members to key into the developmental Agenda of ‘the State ‘people’s Charter of Needs’ to leave footprints in the sands of time in Ebonyi state.

The Chairman of the NYSC Governing Council, Mr Richard Idike congratulated the corps members and wished them a memorable service year.

The NYSC State Coordinator,  Mrs Oladeinde Foluke said the NYSC scheme was established by decree (now act) NO 24 of 22nd May, 1973; in furtherance to the Federal Government post-war policy realizing the much-needed National unity and integration among all the tribes of Nigeria.

 “To achieve this, the service has been carefully planned and segmented into four cardinal programmes namely: Orientation, Primary assignment, Community Development Service (CDS), and the winding-up/passing out”, Oladeinde added.

The State Coordinator said the three-week-long orientation course exercise, which is regimented gives the members a disciplined mind, a sense of self-reliance and above all equips corps members with the practical, social and leadership skills that will enable them to conquer the challenges of the service year and beyond.
