The Wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru has charged women to be creative, productive, and useful in society.
Mrs Nwifuru gave this charge while flagging off training on Agro tech, in Echara, Ikwo local Government Area, and Uwana, Afikpo North Local Government Area respectively, all in the State, Southeast Nigeria.
Mrs Nwifuru said her office would collaborate with the Eudora Ibaim Foundation in tackling issues concerning women and children.
She also maintained that the eradication of Gender-based violence and other social vices in the state would be achieved through the collective efforts of her team.
The Governor’s Wife called on the wives of the 13 LGAs and all stakeholders to support her in the mission.
She was represented at the event by Prof. Onyinkan Tasie who appreciated the effort of the Eudora Ibiam Foundation.
She stated that the life and times of the founder who was a Nigerian teacher, Midwife, and missionary with her husband, the late Dr. Ezeogo Akani Ibiam was a lesson she hoped to emulate to eradicate GBV
In their respective lectures, the resource persons Mr. Arisa Ikechukwu, Blessing Ngozi Vincent, and others gave tutorials on how to use their mobile phones to access finances and how to be productive in their farming.
A beneficiary, Elder Iduma Akanu-Ibiam thanked the wife of the Governor for all her efforts in supporting the indigents in the state.
Meanwhile, in Echara, Ikwo Local Government Area, the wife of the Governor who was represented by the Coordinator, Mrs. Ezinne Nwode said the training would avail the beneficiaries an opportunity to learn useful things that would change their finances.
In her opening remark, the Coordinator of the programme, Mrs. Ezinne Nwode said she was overwhelmed by the opportunity given to the people of Echara by the wife of the Governor for them to be one of the beneficiaries of the programme.
Mrs. Nwode promised to be very active in coordinating the programme, stressing that in the next three months, there would be a change in their communities in enhancing Agro tech programme.
