The Wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru has vowed to continue to work with relevant agencies to end Child Trafficking and other forms of Child Abuse in the state.
Mrs Nwifuru disclosed this during the visit of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP team led by Mrs Offor Bertha, in her office at Centenary City in Abakaliki the State Capital.
The First Lady said her commitment to stop the trafficking of women and children was borne out of the dangers faced by the trafficked children who are exposed to different forms of danger after they are lured from their families.
She said that more needed to be done to tackle this crime especially in the state as she would partner with NAPTIP to put a stop to the trafficking of women and children.
On her part, the leader of NAPTIP team, Mrs Offor Bertha while speaking, appreciated the First lady for her passion and doggedness to eradicate the scourge of Human Trafficking and Gender- Based Violence in Ebonyi State.
She also assured Her Excellency of their unalloyed support in this quest.
She pleaded for more Government intervention to attract foreign donor agencies that are ready to partner with them to end Human trafficking and Gender Based Violence. They appealed to be part of her sensitization tour in the state.
