The Ebonyi State Government in Southeast Nigeria has mapped out plans to end insecurity in the state.
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi disclosed to Journalists during the Contract Signing Ceremony of Ebonyi State ring roads at Government House Abakaliki the State Capital.
Governor Umahi warns all the Stakeholders and Local Authorities in the state to rise up for their responsibilities as it concerns security.
“Let me warn all the Local Government Council Chairmen, traditional Rulers and parents that henceforth, they would be held responsible for any killing in the State.“
Umahi said that there would be no killing again in the state.
“No any Innocent Ebonyi citizen would be killed, no more. Anybody that attempts that would end up in the jail.“
He called on everybody in the state to collaborate efforts with security agencies to ensure permanent peace in the State.
Umahi added that “The killings going on in Anambra State is not perpetrated by Ebonyi people as alleged, that if any Ebonyi is caught in killing that such person should be killed too.“
Ring Road
Umahi said the Ring road is going to help in enhancing the economy of the state.
He said the ring road is starting from “135 Ezzamgbo in Ohaukwu to Nkomoro in Ezza North, to Onueke in Ezza South, from Ikwo to Nwezenyi in Izzi Local Government.
“Another one will start from Nwezenyi to Nwofe, through Iboko to terminate at Ezzamgbo junction,“ he said.
He thanked all the Executive Council Members of the State for their contribution towards the development of the State.
Umahi equally appreciated the efforts of Mr Patrick Tamba Musa for making the loan possible for the ring road construction.
