The Women group in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria, has given their support to the Governorship Candidate of Labour Party LP, Architect Edward Nkwegu and other Candidates contesting for various positions.

The women’s group under the wives of the Candidates who contest various positions in the Labour Party made these declarations during their sensitisation campaign for Ebonyi women to vote for persons of their choice in the forthcoming General Election.

The first speaker during the sensitisation, Mrs. Antonia Nwuruku, the wife of Senatorial Candidate Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku, represented by Mrs. Nnenna Eze, said the sensitisation is to avoid anyone deceiving Ebonyi women.

Other speakers, Mrs. Nwite Jacinta, who represented the wife of LP candidate for Ishielu South for State Assembly, Mrs. Nwali Peter, and Nnenna Kalu of Affikpo Southwest constituency urged Ebonyi people to vote wisely for the sake of posterity.

The Founder of the Organisation, Lady Mary Nkwegu, while addressing journalists after the event in Abakaliki, the State capital, said the group would work hard to ensure that no woman is intimidated or forced to vote out of her wish.

Lady Nkwegu said, “All the Women in the State are going to vote for labour Party because as the wife of the Gubernatorial Candidate if we eventually emerge, we are going to make sure that every Ebonyi girl who wants to go to School must be sponsored to the Highest level. Some will learn skills.

“to cut it short, no Man or woman in the State will not have something to do because Ebonyi State will be Industrialised, and people will have a choice of the type of Job they want to do.”

She said the mechanised way of Farming for all Ebonyi people would characterise their administration.

“No Ebonyi man or woman will be allowed to do manual mechanised farming,” She added.
