ECOWAS Commission President Pledges Support For Nigeria’s President-elect

The President of the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS), Commission, Dr. Omar Touray, has expressed his commitment to work closely with Nigeria’s President elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu on all matters affecting region.

He made the commitment at the ongoing 2023 First Ordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament in Abuja, Nigeria.

Dr. Touray commended Nigeria for the political maturity which made it possible for the peaceful conduct of presidential and legislative elections in the country.

“I would like to commend the government and people of Nigeria for their political maturity, which has made it possible to organize peaceful presidential and legislative elections.”

“I take this opportunity to warmly congratulate the President-elect, His Excellency Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to reiterate to him the Community’s full readiness to work closely with him on matters affecting our region.”

The Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament Dr. Sidie Tunis also congratulated Nigeria’s President-Elect, Senator Tinubu on his victory at the polls and expressed best wishes on behalf of the membership of the ECOWAS Parliament for his success as he prepares to take up the responsibilities and challenges of his office.
