Edo Queens reinforce squad ahead CAF WAFU-B Playoff
Nigeria’s representatives for the 2024/2025 CAF Women’s Champions League, WAFU-B qualifiers, Edo Queens have bolstered their squad with 14 new players as they prepare for the continental campaign.

Edo Queens have been on a one-month intensive training programme in Uzairue as part of preparations for the WAFU-B qualifiers billed to be held in Cote D’Ivoire.
According to the statement, “The management and fans of the club believed that with the integration of 14 newly recruited players, with quality, experience and versatility also coupled with the impressive performance of the team in recent seasons, it will be an uphill task for opponents to stop Edo Queens from flying high in this competition.
“It is also important to know that Edo Queens have strengthened all departments of the squad, ready to make a statement at the games.
“The entire team nurse big hope of victory as they roll out drums of football war against Omnisports Etincelle FC of Burkina Faso on Sunday, August 11th, Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana, Wednesday, 14th, and AS Garde Nationale of Niger on Saturday, 17th August 2024, respectively.
“All matches for the Zone B WAFU-B qualifiers will be played at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny Champroux Stadium in Cote D’Ivoire.
“For the Nigerian representatives Edo Queens FC, a win in two games will earn them a last stage berth in competition.
“Edo Queens and top management staff are expected to leave Nigeria next week for Cote D’Ivoire for the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B play-off.
