A- 5-day train-the-trainer workshop on Better Education Service Delivery for All, BESDA, and Better Attendance Management Information System BAMIS in public primary schools, has begun in Lafia, the state capital.
The training which is the first of its kind was aimed at giving the Education Management Information System (EMIS) Officers new techniques on how to use BAMIS mobile in the state public primary schools.
The event is jointly organised by the Universal Basic Education Commission ( UBEC), BESDA, and in collaboration with the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board.
While declaring the 5-day training open, the Executive Chairman of Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Muhammad Dan’azimi, said the training was timely.
“I urge you to take advantage of the opportunity, and make the best use of the 5 days of intensive lectures and practicals to sharpen your knowledge”.
Meanwhile, the Director, of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Mrs. Jerusa Denis, said that resource persons drawn from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), would impact on Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board and Nasarawa State Ministry of Education and EMIS Officers’ new skills on the operating system of Better Education Service Delivery for All.
Jerusa said the objective of the training programme for EMIS Officers is to be able to effectively acquire the BESDA attendance Management Information System (BAMIS) mobile application in the state primary schools.
She further called on the participants to participate fully as the training was timely, relevant, and above all the first of its kind since the inception of the Planning, Research, and Statistics Department.
The Executive Secretary, of the Universal Basic Education Commission( UBEC) Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, represented by Hajia Hussaina Bello, urged the participants at the training to participate actively in the proceedings to justify the government’s huge investment in the education sector.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, an EMIS Officer, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hajia Amina Akoshi, appreciated the UBEC, BESDA, and NSUBEB for incorporating them into the Programme.
She promised total compliance and justified the confidence reposed on them.
The Better Education Service Delivery for All ( BESDA), Better Attendance Management Information System ( BAMIS) is a strategy developed by the Universal Basic Education Commission ( UBEC) on how to install and use BAMIS mobile for Head Teachers and enumerators at the Basic Education level.
