The President of the Students Union in Taraba State University, Comrade Enock Amos Sanda has commended the Taraba State Government for its effort in improving the quality of education in the state especially the Taraba state university.
Comrade Sanda gave the commendation in an interview with Voice of Nigeria in Jalingo the Taraba state capital on the occasion of celebrating the creation of Taraba State 30 years ago.
He said the Taraba State Government among other notable developmental projects in the state has invested more in the education sector in the state which has improved the standard of education in the state.
” When the present Government came on board, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku employed over three thousand rescue teachers in the state, who were deployed to various schools in the state and this effort has improved education in the state, also in the Taraba State University the state government has engaged the services of over 50 Professors and qualified Lecturers in various Fields of studies, this has also helped in boosting the quality of education in the state,” he said.
He also commended the federal government for delivering various projects such as lecture theatres, ICT Centres and Computer systems in the Taraba State University under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) project, stressing that the gesture has further boosted the learning condition of students in the university.
“Taraba State University which was ranked among the 140 Universities in Nigeria is now ranked as the 63 Universities in Nigeria, this is because of the tremendous impact of the Taraba state government in education in the state, also our University graduates have continued to enjoy high rating in the labour market above their counterpart from other Universities due to the marketable accredited courses offered in the school and the High calibre of Professors and Lecturers who have been engaged in the school to impact knowledge on the students” he stressed.
The SUG President also noted that the Taraba State University is wearing a new look due to the many infrastructure developments carried out by the state government such as the completion of the new Senate Building, the e-library, ICT Centres, new lectures theatres, Gulf coast, and many others.
Comrade Enock Amos Sanda also felicitated with the Taraba state government and the people of Taraba State on the commemoration of the creation of Taraba State thirty years ago.
Taraba State was created on August 27th, 1991 when the then Ibrahim Babangida Military Administration carved it out of the defunct Gongola State.
