Eguavoen Hints at More Call-Ups for Super Eagles Ahead of CHAN Qualifiers
Nigeria’s interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has revealed that additional players will be invited to join the Super Eagles squad in preparation for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying matches against Ghana.
“This isn’t the final squad. We’re still evaluating other players, and we have a large pool to choose from,” Eguavoen stated. “Next week, some players will join, while others may be dropped. Our goal is to assemble a formidable team.”
Eguavoen’s comments came after expressing satisfaction with the team’s first training sessions, praising their technical skills. “The players have been impressive, showing great technical ability,” he said. “However, we still have work to do to blend them into a cohesive unit, considering they come from different clubs.”
Initially, Eguavoen had called up 35 players to the Super Eagles camp.
