Eid Al-Adha: Emir of Kano urges citizens to stop dumping refuse

The Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has urged the populace to avoid dumping refuse on drainages aimed at addressing the challenges of flood.
The Emir gave the advice in his Sallah message to the people of Kano, shortly after the Eid prayers held at the Kofar Mata prayer ground in the ancient city.
He said, “The move will reduce damages being done by flood to both human and material resources in the state.”
The Emir while also receiving the executive Governor of Kano state Abba Kabir at Gidan Shetima urged Kano citizens to come out and be counted in the next census for Kano to maintain itse position as the most populous state in the country.
Earlier, while delivering a sermon after the Eid prayer, at the Kofar Mata Eid prayer ground, the Chief Imam of Kano, Emiratus Professor, Sani Mohammed Zaharadeen advised Muslim umah to imbibe the culture of helping one another.
“For those who were able to perform sacrifice of slaughtering animal, endeavour to share a portion of the sacrifice with those who could not perform the sacrifice,” he said.
Professor Zaharadeen in addition advised Muslim faithful to avoid engaging in enemity with one another, hence they should embrace and engage in praying for continuous peace and harmony in the country.
Governor of Kano state Governor Abba Kabir while commenting congratulated the people of the state for or a successful Eid El Ksbir, just as he equally reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of the state.
The Eid prayer was successfully held in the five emirate councils in the state.
Shortly after the Eid prayers, families slaughter their Rams and other animals bought for the celebration.
Professional butcher had a field day as they make brisk business from household by slaughtering and cutting them into sizes.
Those buying skin of slaughtered animals were also not left out by in the bisk businesses.
