Eid Al-Adha: Katsina Assembly Speaker tasks Nigerians on unity, love
The Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Mr Nasir Yahaya, has called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of unity and love for one another throughout the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and beyond.
Yahaya made the call in Daura on Wednesday.
He also urged Nigerians to emulate the virtues of obedience and sacrifice as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim in their day-to-day activities.
“As Nigerians and residents of Katsina state in particular, we need to live in unity, love one another and make the needed sacrifice for the development of our country.
“Our quest for development will be attained only in an atmosphere of peace, through peaceful co-existence and harmonious relationship with our neighbours,” he said.
The lawmaker also called for sustained prayers for leaders at all levels of governance, which he described as “paramount” to overcoming the myriad of challenges bedevilling the country.
According to him, Nigerian leaders need sustained prayers for Allah’s guidance and wisdom to enable them effectively steer the affairs of the country towards a prosperous nation.
He assured the commitment of the State Assembly to entrenching good governance through quality representation and law-making that meets the needs of the people.
