Eid Al-Ahda: NRC Announces Special Train Services

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced special Eid-el-kabir and added an extra trip to its Lagos- Ibadan Train Service for Thursday, 5th June 2025, as part of a response to the increased passengers’ demand during the festive period.

NRC Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, said that the Lagos-Ibadan Train service will run 8:00 am & 1:55 pm with additional trips, 4:00 pm Ibadan- Lagos 8:00 am & 11:03 am and an additional trip of 4:46 pm, while the 4:00 pm train will now depart at 4:46 pm.

Additionally, in the spirit of Eid-el-kabir and to ensure smooth travel for Muslim faithful and other passengers on the Warri-Itakpe corridor, Opeifa stated that NRC will operate a Special Train Service on Thursday, 5 June, 2025, which would ordinarily be a non-operational day reserved for maintenance.

According to him, consequently, routine maintenance activities originally scheduled for Thursday have been rescheduled to Sunday, June 8, 2025, while normal Abuja-Kaduna service will run as scheduled with additional coaches attached to it.

The Managing Director of NRC and his management team wish all passengers a pleasant and safe journey during the celebrations and assure the public of their continued commitment to providing safe, efficient and customer-focused railway services.
