The Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr Isidore Chikere has mobilised operational assets of the Command for the safety and security of the public during the Eid al-Fitr celebration.
Isidore has assured the public of their safety in line with the order of DDrAhmed Abubakar Audi, mni OFR, the Commandant General of NSCDC for State Commands, to beef up security before, during and beyond the festive period.
According to him, 8077 officers and men will be deployed for enhanced physical presence through mobile and foot patrol and to specific areas of conveyance such as major thoroughfares, transportation hubs, commercial areas, and places of worship.
He emphasised that the deployment plan aims to ensure the safety of the public during a religious observance and urged the public to cooperate with the NSCDC and other security agencies.
He said; “The deployment of our personnel is aimed at providing maximum security coverage to the public who will take part in the various religious activities.”
In an Operational order released, Comdt. Isidore highlighted the importance of respecting and promoting the human rights of all individuals by personnel deployed for the assignment, ensuring maximum crime prevention at various security flashpoints identified and conducting themselves professionally.
Felicitating the Muslim faithful, Isidore implored them to imbibe the spirit of love, patience, tolerance and perseverance which are deep spiritual virtues, stressing that “doing so guarantees the urgently needed peace, unity, security and harmony in the Country.”
