The Education Secretary of Fityanul Islam of Nigeria, Gombe Branch, Sheik Ahmad Modibbo Isa Shongo has called on Muslims to maintain the piety observed during Ramadan, even after the 30 days fasting.

Sheik Isa told Voice of Nigeria in Gombe that according to Muslim Scholars, if one deviates from the Piousness he/she observed during Ramadan, it shows that his/her piety had not been accepted by Allah in the first place.

He said; “the God they worshipped during Ramadan remains God always and so must be honoured with continues godly living, saying the reward of Allah from the 30 days fasting will be bestowed on the Muslim who maintains his/her right living.”

Sheik Isa encouraged Muslims to fear Allah, because His presence is everywhere and sees whatever one does even in the hidden.

He said; “It’s because man came into the world to worship God and man has not come into the world to live anyhow with his life. So, the call I am making today is because I want us to fear God and we should return and worship God.”

He urged them to, in the Spirit of Islam, show love and care to others in the society by expressing joy without getting high with illicit substances like alcohol.

Some organise wild parties, where they bring prohibited substances that are taboo in Islam, like alcohol, engaging in sexual immorality and so on. I advise them to stop. But let them spread love and care to others, like I said. Wear fine cloths, if there are, visit friends and loved ones. This is what Sallah brought,” said Sheik Isa.

He discouraged late night outings in ungodly venues saying it is not what Sallah represents. He also condemned reckless driving and rough bike riding in the township, which could lead to preventable road crashes and injuries.

Sheik Isa called on the youths to always relate whatever they do to Islam, so that things would work out well for everyone in the society.

He also called on the governments consider the plight of Nigerians in the midst of the challenging economic realities, by intervening in all forms to bring succor to the Nigerians.

Specifically, Sheik Isa called on elites to relate with the government on the present predicament of the masses, by holding a series of meetings to find solutions to the problems bedeviling Nigeria.

He urged the governments to look critically into the areas of fuel subsidy removal, which has led to the increase in the pump price of petrol, as well as increase in electricity tariff and the effect of dollar exchange rate on goods and services.

According to him, the stakeholders should look at such issues that relate to imports on production of various products.

He called on Muslims not to go overboard to celebrate the Eid Al-Fitr, by borrowing or engage in behaviours that would attract dire consequences on them after the festivities.

To the wealthy Muslims in the communities, he urged them to lend a helping hand to the less privileged in the society by sharing with them.
