Eid-Al-Fitr: Ebonyi Assembly Member-Elect celebrates with Muslims

Ebonyi State House of Assembly Member Elect Under the platform of People’s Democratic Party PDP, Mr Victor Nwoke has celebrated Eid-Al-Fitr with all the Muslims in the State with the donation of food items, Rams and undisclosed amount of money.

Mr Nwoke made this donation while celebrating with Muslims at Hausa Quarters in Abakaliki, the State Capital.

He advised all Nigerians to see each other as one and to always exhibit love at all times irrespective of their religious or political affiliation.

I’m happy to be here today to celebrate with our Muslim brothers. As we are all aware, religion is not our problem in the country but lack of understanding,” he said.

The Deputy Chief Imam of Hosanna Mosque, Alhaji Nhuhu Haruna, in the State called for support for the incoming Government and prayed for the peace of the nation.

According to him, “we have prayed for the peace of the nation and we prayed for the incoming Government to rule us in peace”

I urge the incoming Government to give maximum promotion to good governance for the people. I urge all Muslim followers to give the support to the incoming Government in order to make Nigeria great,” he added.

Also speaking, Mr Usman shuaib, Secretary, Abakaliki Central Mosque said the sallah celebration was for the renewal of faith and hope in God.

Yes, this sallah is for cleansing. Muslim are restrained from doing certain things, like the things of the flesh; you don’t engage in any sin like the use of abusive language”

“You don’t perform sexual act, even with your wife. During the fasting, you don’t insult people or quarrel. We are restraint from so many things in the period and you fight”

We implore all our followers to continue with such character. Live a life beyond the Ramadan. Abstain from all immortal act and remain faithful to Allah,” he said.
