Nigeria’s Minister of Niger-Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio says citizens of the country must put into practice the message of love learnt from Lent and the Ramadan periods.

Akpabio made the remark in an interview with State House Correspondents when a delegation of Muslims and top government officials paid Sallah homage to President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

According to him, the concurrence of the lent and Ramadan seasons means a lot to Nigeria, adding that the prayers of both Muslims and Christians will not be in vain.

“We have done a lot of prayers because there was concurrence of the Lent season and Ramadan, which means in all ramifications that the prayers of both the Christians and Muslims concurred and rhymed together and the concurrence of it simply means that God almighty has designed well for Nigeria at a time like this, that yes indeed, the Egyptians we see today, we shall soon see them no more.

“The President has spoken that the bandits and terrorists are trying their luck, they are pushing too far but plans are afoot by the Nigerian government to ensure the safety of lives and property,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to continue to be their brother’s keeper for the love of the nation.

“Love should be allowed to flow because where there is love, there will be peace and development. So I wish Nigerians well and I pray that God almighty will grant us, love, in this season.”
