Eid-el-fitr: NSCDC deploys 900 personnel for Sallah celebrations in Sokoto

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), has deployed no fewer than 900 personnel to ensure hitch free Eid-el-fitr celebration in Sokoto State.

NSCDC Commandant Sokoto Command, Mr Muhammad Dada, gave the figure while addressing newsmen in Sokoto.

According to him the command has out of the figure, deployed 100 personnel to the Sultan Palace, to be able to control the huge crowd at the festive period.

“Sokoto is a peaceful state which has a record of peaceful celebration, as such we should maintain our status.

“We want assure the people that with their cooperation, the security agencies in the state will continue to maintain the current peaceful coexistence across the state.

“For the Eid-el-fitr celebration, we have manned 15 operational vehicles to patrol the roads across the state,” he said.

Mr Dada, further appealed on the people in the state to continue to report to the security personnel’s any strange activities in their domain.

“This is in order to pursue our collective mandate of maintaining peace and order within the society,” he added.
