As Muslims in Nigeria and around the world mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, the Labour Party’s governorship candidate in Anambra State and immediate past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief George Moghalu has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the Muslim community in Anambra and beyond.
In a goodwill message issued from his media centre, Chief Moghalu described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred and deeply reflective period that transcends ritual and festivity.
He called on the faithful to draw inspiration from the unwavering devotion of Prophet Ibrahim, whose legacy of obedience and sacrifice remains a cornerstone of Islamic tradition.
“Eid-el-Kabir reminds us all, regardless of religious affiliation of the enduring values of faith, devotion, and selfless sacrifice,” he said.
“In this holy season, I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters in Anambra and across Nigeria to be true ambassadors of peace, tolerance, and unity.”
Chief Moghalu also encouraged adherents of Islam to uphold values that unite humanity, compassion, humility, and service, especially by reaching out to the less privileged during this sacred celebration.
Known for his inclusive leadership style and steadfast commitment to justice and equity, Chief Moghalu emphasised the importance of religious harmony in fostering sustainable development in Nigeria’s diverse society.
“As we look to the future of Anambra, my vision is of a state where every citizen—regardless of religion or ethnicity—feels seen, heard, and valued. Let us come together to build a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Anambra,” he stated.
Reaffirming his dedication to religious freedom and interfaith dialogue, Chief Moghalu pledged to lead a government that defends the rights of all citizens and fosters peaceful coexistence as a foundation for community development.
He concluded with a heartfelt prayer for peace, security, and prosperity across Nigeria during this season of spiritual renewal.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the entire Labour Party campaign team, I wish all Muslims in Anambra and across Nigeria a peaceful and joyous Eid. Barka da Sallah!”
