Niger State Governor in North-Central Nigeria, Abubakar Sani Bello has congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of Eid-el-Maulud with a call on them to use the occasion of the prophet’s birth and reflect on the essential lessons of his life and times.
The Governor, in a statement by his spokesperson Mary Noel Berje, noted that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation by all adherents of the religion.
He urged the Muslim Ummah to always show humility, tolerance, gratitude, caring and love to one another as they are some of the most important virtues that guarantee peaceful co-existence and progress of any society.
“The Prophet’s servitude, exemplary conduct and leadership qualities should serve as the righteous path to which every leader as well as the followers would want to follow.
“Indeed, our socio-political and economic wellbeing will be better-of and the whole world a better place to live in if we imbibe the exemplary virtues and practically apply the teachings and practice of the Noble Prophet (SAW).”
The Governor used the occasion to remind the citizens of the politically active periods ahead and urged them to come out and positively participate in all the democratic processes that will usher in another political administration in the country.
He also urged them to continue to be law-abiding, prayerful, patient and optimistic that the present administration in the state and the country would continue to bring necessary interventions that would enhance the socio-economic well-being of citizens.
