Eid-ul-Adha: Government Declares Monday, Tuesday Public Holidays

The Nigerian Government has officially designated Monday, June 17th, and Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, as public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, both domestically and abroad, on this significant occasion.

Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim Ummah to uphold the values of peace, benevolence, and sacrifice, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him), and to utilize this period for prayers for the unity, prosperity, and stability of our nation.

The Minister affirmed the Administration’s dedication to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.

In extending heartfelt wishes for a joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebration to the Muslim Ummah, the Minister advised all Nigerians to take responsibility for securing a prosperous Nigeria for future generations.
