The Lagos state governor will next month, unveil the 37 wonders of Nigeria at the National festival of Arts and Culture, NAFEST. in Lagos.
The unveiling, according to the Director General National Council for Arts and Culture, Mr. Olusegun Runsewe, will showcase the rich cultural and tourism destinations of the 36 States of the Nigeria including its federal capital Territory, Abuja.
Mr. Runsewe, while on the facility tour of the national stadium, the venue for the NAFEST, said the unity of Nigeria is paramount and as such the unveiling will play its part.
“The State Governor of Lagos, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will be at the closing ceremony, breaking the biggest ground at the event.
He will be launching the 37 wonders of Nigeria, which means every state has a wonder,” he said.
“This is to show that it is time for Nigeria to be united especially at this period of politics and election, and that is the purpose of the National festival of Arts” and Culture, NAFEST,” Mr Runsewe stated.
Speaking on the preparedness of Lagos state Government to host the event, Mr, Rusewe said the state is ready to host an international-like event.
He appreciated the Lagos state governor for fixing up the venue in just six months.
“The venue for NAFEST has been abandoned for 25years but the Lagos state Governor, who is interested in developing Nigeria, has renovated it to international standard and also duplicated what happened in 1974 during the all African games held in Lagos”, the Director/General pointed out.
The Eko Nafest 2022, may break the over four years records of Governor Wike of Rivers state, who deployed the greatest incentives and enabling environment when it played host to the iconic NAFEST in the year 2019.
The 36 states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory are expected to storm the city of Lagos, from November 7th to 13th, to showcase and market their various tourism destinations, cultures, arts and crafts etc.
The Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, NCAC and President, of the Africa Region of World Craft Council ( NCC), according to Mr Segun Runsewe, was in Lagos state over the weekend, alongside the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile to finalise and ensure all things are in place ahead of the festival next month.
