Election Materials Yet To Arrive At Polling Units In Abia State

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is yet to bring voting materials to most polling Units across Abia State in Southeast Nigeria.
As at 9:50am local time, no INEC official or Adhoc Staff was seen in Nkata, Mabaranka, Umuovom, Ogbonkata, Ndaigbo, Amandiebo, Ugba Primary School, Amaokwe polling units.
Eligible voters who came out in their numbers in these polling units have expressed sadness over the situation.
One of the Election Observers, Chijioke Ufommadu described the situation as a sad one, saying they came out at 8am local time for the exercise.
Ufommadu said he had called the INEC office but was told the materials would be brought to the polling units.
Voice of Nigeria reports that INEC had stated that election exercise would start at 8am local time in 4069 polling units in Abia State.
