Elections: Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Atiku meet in Abuja
Nigeria’s former president, His Excellency Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday night met in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Present at the meeting were Atiku’s running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, and former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, among other party chieftains.
Although details of the meeting which was held at Jonathan’s residence are not available, it is, however, not unconnected with the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

Since leaving office in May 2015, His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan has cut down his involvement in partisan politics.
In fact, he has ceased to be an active member of the PDP.
In 2020, he said he was stepping away from active politics to focus on humanitarian services.
He also said he wanted to be of more use to the country in other areas outside politics.
