President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Katsina State ready to cast his vote in the 2023 governorship and State Assembly elections.
The President touched down at 15:20 GMT at Umaru Yar’Adua international airport Katsina.
He was received by Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari and some members of the State Executive Council.
The President was later ferried to Daura, where he will cast his vote on Saturday.

In another development, Politicians and other Stakeholders concerned have been called upon to admonish their supporters and followers to not engage in any act that could disrupt the peaceful conduct of Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in Katsina State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Spritandant of Police, Mr. Gambo Isah, gave the warning in an interview with Voice of Nigeria’s correspondent, Zubairu Mohammed, in Katsina State, North-West Nigeria, in response to the Security preparation to ensure hitch free Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly election in the State.
Mr. Isah urged politicians and other stakeholders to be law abiding citizens and not undermine the smooth conduct of the election process.
“Politicians should know that election is not do or die affiars, there must be a winner or a loser all of us must be a law abiding citizens, and security operatives in the State will tolerate any illegality, such as political thuggery, violence, snatching of Ballot Boxes,and any grievances should be channelled through appropriate authority and for anybody that is not satisfied with anything the law of the land is very clear, the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria 1999, the electoral act 2022 as amended is clear, People should follow led down rules and regulations for grievances”.
He said, part of the security preparations is that, the Command is deploying security personnels to all the local governments of the State.
Meanwhile, the Head of Voter Education and Poblicity from the Independent National Electoral Common INEC, Katsina State, Mr. Shehu Saidu, said, all the sensitive and non-Sensitive election materials have been distributed to all thirty four Local Governments of the State and therefore, the Commission is ready for the election.
“All electoral personnels have undergone special training to avoid mistakes that occured during the previous election, Sensitive election materials, such as Ballot Boxes, results sheet have been distributed to the local governments Electoral officers”
“On the issue of Bimodal Voter’s Accreditation System BVAS, the Commission has provided alternative Machines to the areas that experienced some challenges during the last presidential and House of Assembly election, in case of machine failure, what you need to do is to just call the technical officer to come and reconfigure the machine”.
