Speaking with journalists during the inspection and distribution of the materials in Gombe, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Mr. Umar Ibrahim, said the materials were being handed over to the Electoral Officers for onward delivery to their various local government areas.
Mr. Ibrahim said the electoral officers had taken delivery of the items and transported them to their LGAs after they were duly inspected and certified.
He gave the electorates in Gombe State the assurances of INEC’s readiness to conduct credible elections, thereby calling on them to come out and vote.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner however, cautioned the public to conduct themselves peacefully and desist from any acts capable of disrupting the election process.
He equally gave assurances of enough security provisions, owing to the strong collaborations between the INEC and the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security.
