Deposed Emir Claims Nasarawa Palace As Sanusi Reclaims Main Palace

The 16th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has assumed office in the main Palace of the Kano Emirate barely 24 hours after receiving his appointment letter.

The Emir who dressed in a colourful traditional attire rode a horse from the inner emir’s residence to the main palace at Kofar Kudu to commence his first official engagement.

The Emir who was received by senior officials in the palace, moved straight to ascend the executive throne as the officially recognized Emir.

As the tradition of the palace entails, all the District Heads and traditional title holders lined up to pay homage to Emir Sanusi.

Meanwhile, amidst the order of Arrest of the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero by the State Governor, the deposed Emir has moved to one of the palaces called the Nasarawa Palace.

A visit by Voice of Nigeria saw heavy security personnel at the Nasarawa Palace.

Hundreds of well-wishers trooped to have a glimpse of the two palaces.
