The Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, says it has concluded plans to receive key officials from University of Brunel Business School London, United Kingdom (Uk) to assess projects of the FCT Students’ Entrepreneurship Skills in some selected FCT schools.
The Director, FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB), Dr. Sani Ladan explained that the planned visit was as a result of the presentation on Entrepreneurship projects showcased by the FCT SEB innovative team, during a short course at the University of Brunel Business School London, Uk.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Director and Head of Information,
Education Secretariat, Kabiru Musa, said the FCT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Students’ Skills projects have recently gained international recognition.
The statement added that the Team FCT after a robust presentation and interactive session generated lots of excitement, which led to some beneficiary offers from the UK university.
Speaking during a meeting with the Committees set in place to ensure smooth execution of activities for the upcoming visit, SEB boss listed their responsibilities which centre around ensuring a structured activities associated with the visit, so that there will be smooth coordination of all planned activities.
Ladan, who unveiled activities for the 5-day visit tagged “FCT- SEB Nigeria/ Brunel Open Innovation Impact Centre” with the theme Waste To Wealth”, said, among others include; meeting with stakeholders, tour of innovation and entrepreneurship projects of FCT students in action.
He said the visiting officials are keen to explore opportunities for cooperation and entrepreneurship academic partnerships
According to him, the facilitators expressed their determination to physically assess the FCT Students Entrepreneurship Skills in action within some selected FCT schools.
“The University of Brunel Business School has a state of the art facilities, extensive programmes and a hub for nurturing successful start- ups ventures, which our students and talented youths will benefit from while establishing long – lasting relationship with FCT Education Secretariat”, he stressed.
SEB Director also expressed the Team appreciation to the Minister for FCT, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for his earlier approval and support towards the visit.
