Enugu State Government has announced it will no longer hold statewide environmental sanitation on Saturday.
The Managing Director of the Waste Management Authority, (ESWAMA), Mrs Amaka Anajemba, confirmed this in a statement on Friday in Enugu saying this was due to ongoing South-East Regional Convention of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship holding in Enugu.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the state government usually announce clean up at the end of the month across the state except during major events.
The exercise which normally begins at 6 a.m to 10 a.m with human and vehicular movement restricted within the period was cancelled to enable church members have access to vehicle that would convey them to the venue of the programme, Anajemba said
She said that the authority regretted whatever inconveniences the cancellation might have caused the general public.
