The Governor of Enugu State in South Eastern Nigeria, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said the Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism established by the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, (ECCIMA), was a welcome development as it would help ECCIMA resolve disputes out of court.
Ugwuanyi who was speaking on Monday at the official commissioning of ECCIMA HOUSE ANNEX, expressed delight at the measure of achievements by its President, Sir Emeka Nwandu.
Earlier in an address, the President of ECCIMA, Sir Emeka Nwandu recalled the myriads of challenges the chamber had faced in the past two years and thanked the governor for his unflinching support to the chamber and the organised private sector in Enugu state.
“This new ECCIMA House Annex is built to house the Alternative Dispute Resolution, ADR Centre as well as the South East Chambers Secretariat.
“The purpose of the ADR Centre is to use its techniques to assist parties to resolve their dispute and arrive at mutually acceptable agreement in less costly, speedy, and efficient manner”. Nwandu noted.
Meanwhile, outstanding industrialists and those who have impacted on the economy and the future of the south east and indeed Nigeria, were recognised as recipients of key-man awards.
They include Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, Mr. Cyril Ajagu, Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi, Engr. Kingsley Eze, Barr. Cosmas Agu, and Dr. Paulinus Ozonnagbo.
The presentation of the award will be made in the course of the investiture ceremony of the Chambers 16th President billed for Saturday February 5 2022.
