The Nigerian Exchange Group Limited started this week on a bullish sentiment with gains in 45 stocks as profit-taking activities continued at the market.
The benchmark index of equities at the Exchange appreciated by 975.13 basis points representing a 1.45 percent increase to close at 68,111.71 point at the end of business on Monday compared to Friday’s 67,136.58 points.
Similarly, the market capitalisation appreciated up by more than N535 billion to close at N37.420 trillion higher than the N36.885 trillion of the previous day.
At the end of day’s trading session, a total of 430.39 million shares valued at N8.26 billion exchange hands in 7,656 deals which got the market closing with 45 gainers relative to 16 losers.
NNFM led the gainers table with a 10% profit on its share price to close at N18.15k followed by CHELLARAM with 9.77% gain to close N3.82k per share; then UACN made an 9.54% profit on its share price with a closing price of N14.35k.
MEYER led the decliners list with a 9.87% loss on its share price to close at N2.74k followed by ABBEYBDS with a closing price of N1.86k after recording a 9.71% drop on its share price while REGALINS recorded an 8.33% loss on its share price to close at N0.33k.
UNIVINSURE recorded the highest volume of trades with 94.75 million shares followed by UBA with 51.26 million and TRANSCORP had 32.47 million shares.
