Equities market cap drops by N92bn

Activities in the Nigerian equities market took a downward trend on Tuesday to close on a negative note.
At the close of trading, the market capitalisation and the All Share index declined by 0.6 percent to settle at N56.359 trillion and 99,630.51 basis points, respectively.
The day’s trading session reversed the gains recorded on 30 equities trading on Monday.
Market participation also decreased as the volume of traded units for the day stood at  848,965,335 million that exchanged hands in 8,064 deals.
Profit-taking activities were recorded in 29 stock relative 19 decliners.
The gainers’ table was led by TOTAL with a 9.98 percent profit on its share price to close at N388.90k, followed by PRESCO  with a 9.97 percent gain on its share price to close at N323.20k; while UPDC made 9.92 percent profit on its share price to close at N1.33k.
NASCON on the other hand, led the losers’ list with a 9.91 percent drop on its share price to close at N36.80k. ThOMASWY followed with a 9.66 percent drop to close at N1.59k per share; then MAYBAKER share price declined by 7.13 percent to close at N5.60k.
