Equities market maintains bullish trend with N6bn gain

Gains persisted on the Nigerian equities market on Wednesday making it the third consecutive day of profits this week as the market capitalisation rose by N6 billion to close at N29,688 trillion from N29,682 trillion on Tuesday while the all share index appreciated by 0.02% or 11.35 basis points to close at 54,507.66 points.

In the same vein, the market sentiment also closed with 20 gainers and 16 gainers.

The day’s trading ended with a total of 134.45 million shares worth N4.35 traded in 2,905 deals.

Triple Gee and Co led the gainers with 10% price apreciation to close at N1.65k. It was followed by Linkage Assurance with 7.14% gain and a closing price of N0.45k then Consolidated Hallmark Insurance 4.62% to close at N0.68k.

Conversely, Sovereign Trust Insurance came out last on the losers’ chart with a loss of 6.67% to close t N0.28k per share followed by Japaul Gold and Ventures also with 6.67% loss and a closing price of N0.28k then National Salt Company lost 3.57% to close at N10.80k.

Guaranty Trust Holding had the highest volume of 42.3 million traded shares and was followed by United Bank for Africa with 13.1 million shares.
