Equities market rebounds with 0.02% gain

The equities market bounced back to the positive territory on Wednesday after two consecutive days of losses this week with the major market indicators recording 0.02 per cent gain.

 

The All Share index appreciated by 0.02 per cent or 7.38 points to close at 47,163.94 points as against 47,156.56 points on Tuesday.

 

In the same vein, the market capitalisation inched up by N4 billion to close at N25,418 trillion compared with N25,414 trillion the previous day.

 

Wednesday’s trading saw a total of 267.48 million shares valued at N3.22 billion traded in 4,099 deals just as the market recorded 16 gainers and 16 losers.

 

CAP led the gainers with N1.80k gain and a closing price of N19.80k. It was followed by Learn Africa with N0.19k gain and a closing price of N2.17k then Champion breweries with N0.17k gain and a closing price of N2.04k.

 

The last three on the losers’ chart were FCMB which lost N0.32k to close at N3.35k, Mutual Benefits Assurance with N0.02k loss and Associated Bus Company with 0.02k loss.

 

The day’s trading closed with Fidelity bank having the highest volume of 68.8 million traded shares.
