The last trading day of the week on the Nigerian equities market witnessed losses making it the third consecutive day of losses this week on the exchange.
The benchmark All Share Index depreciated by 0.06% to close at 47,268.61 being 27.46 points lower than Thursday’s 47,296.07 points just as the market capitalisation shed N15 billion to close at N25,475 trillion compared to N25,490 trillion recorded on Thursday.
The market sentiment for the day was however positive as trading closed with 20 gainers relative to 19 losers.
At the end of the day’s trading, a total of 170,327 million shares valued at N2.12 billion were traded in 4,654 deals.
John Holt led the gainers with 0.07k gain to close at N0.86k followed by Regency Alliance Insurance with N0.03k gain and a closing price of N0.42k then Linkage Assurance gained 0.04k to close at N0.58k.
On the other hand, Royal Exchange came out last with a price loss of 0.14k and a closing price of N1.35k and it was followed by Mc Nichols with 0.07k loss and a closing price of 0.70k then Lasaco Assurance with N0.10k and a closing price of N1.03k.
The FCMB Group had the highest volume of traded shares of 25 million followed by Zenith Bank with 13 million shares.
