Equity Market Indices Declines by 0.33%

The all-share index of equities on the Nigerian Exchange dived into the  bearish territory on Tuesday declining by 0.33% to close at 101,707.70 basis points, being 334.62 points lower than Monday’s 102,042.32 points.

 

In the same vein, the market capitalisation dipped by N184 billion to close at N55,652 trillion compared to N55,836 trillion recorded on the first trading day of the week.

 

A total of 263,19 million shares valued at N4.3 billion were traded on the market on Tuesday.

 

Honeywell Flour Mill was top on the gainers chart having gained 9.92% to close at N4.32k. After it was Juli with 9.9% price rise and a closing price of N1.11k followed by Cornerstone Insurance Company which rose by 9.88% to close at N2.67k.

 

The top three losers for the day were PZ Cussons Nigeria with 9.87% price loss and a closing price of N25.10k, Morison Industries with 9.84% loss and a closing price of N2.75k and Computer Warehouse Group which lost 9.7% to close at N6.05k.

 

Veritas Kapital Assurance recorded the highest volume of 49.1 million traded shares and was followed by United Bank for Africa with 24.3m.
