Everton Tames Liverpool in Merseyside Derby

Liverpool fell to a fourth consecutive home league defeat as Everton tamed the champions to secure it’s first win at Anfield since 1999.

Liverpool’s midweek Champions League meeting with RB Leipzig had provided some relief from it’s recent domestic troubles, however, their first-half performance was as sloppy as anything they have produced in the Premier League all season.

The hosts struggled in the opening minutes and their shaky start was immediately punished when a misjudged header by Thiago Alcantara in his own half released James Rodriguez, who delivered a superb pass to Richarlison for the brazilizan to fire the visitors into the lead after 3 minutes.
