The factional Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, convened a crucial meeting on Sunday in Abuja, with a renewed pledge to strengthen internal cohesion and revive confidence within the party.

The meeting, held at the official residence of the FCT Minister in the Life Camp area of the capital city, brought together senior party stakeholders aligned with the Wike-led faction.

In his opening address, the BoT Chairman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, emphasised the body’s commitment to restoring stability and order within the PDP.

He noted that the national leadership is prepared to collaborate closely with state chapters to fast-track long-overdue state congresses and reinforce party structures nationwide.

Senator Ohuabunwa outlined a strategic roadmap aimed at reinvigorating the party’s internal processes. The plan includes conducting outstanding congresses across states, consolidating ongoing reforms, and supporting the national leadership to reposition the party ahead of future political contests.

He stressed that timely congresses, organisational discipline, and strengthened grassroots engagement are essential to rebuilding trust among party members and presenting a united, credible front to Nigerians.

The meeting is still ongoing as party leaders deliberate on next steps to move the organisation forward.
