The chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) of Nigeria, Professor Tunji Olalofa, said the commission wants to institute a new value system that will ensure that the public service values of Discipline, Loyalty, Professionalism, and Excellence are pursued.

He stated this at the 43rd Annual Conference of the National Council of Federal Civil Service Commission of Nigeria which had the theme: ‘Role of Civil Service Commission in Driving the Renewed Hope Agenda of Government’ in Katsina state, northwest, Nigeria.

In his remark, the chairman said the commission is determined to recognize what the civil service has towards achieving its mandate.

He pointed out that the commission as a game changer will revisit all its strategies for implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.

“We intend to impose meritocracy recruitment in the context of federal character, and we are also working with the Head of Service to make sure that the required capacity is built among civil servants.

“We are also working to bring new hands to replace the vacancy left by those who have retired from the service and to make sure those appointed possess the required capacity to implement the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu,” Olalofa stated.
